1st Decade (1952-62)

For the first decade since the establishment of our Troop (1952 - 1962) we unfortunately have inadequate evidence. We promise we will continue our research and soon have the complete  history of our Troop.

The founder of our Troop is Mr. Kiriakos Neokleous, director of the Pancyprian Economic Lyceum. His action is many-sided, varied and valuable and for that the Cyprus Scout Association honored him with the "Friends of Scouts" medal in 1967. From the establishment of our troop since today Mr. Neokleous is always our trusty friend, associate and supporter. For the decade of 1952 to 1962 we only know the leaders of our troop. We also found photographs from camps at Loumata ton Aeton in Troodos and Livadi tou Pasia, and furthermore the creation of a band consisting of 10 drums, 4 Trumpets and 2 grand-kasies (a destroyed one exists in the warehouse of our Troop) and a set of cymbals. Our troop began working with Scouts and Adventure Scouts.
